Workshop on Marine Litter Monitoring for Local Government Result
RC3S highlighted the importance of data generated from marine litter monitoring and assessment, and try to build on existing monitoring efforts as well as encourage different institutions and stakeholders, particularly at the local level, to organize marine litter monitoring and assessment regularly. The workshop aimed to harmonize methodologies and empower local stakeholders with the understanding and the capacity that is needed, and enable them to translate the data into actionable recommendations for policy-makers.
Held in Padang, West Sumatera on 26 – 28 November 2019, participants included representatives of local environmental agencies, lecturers and university students.
